Too/very

Too is different from very- too means more than enough, more than necessary, or more than is wanted.

Compare:
e.g She's a very intelligent girl.
She's too intelligent for her class- she's not learning anything.

e.g. It was very cold, so we stayed at home.
It was too cold to go out, so we stayed at home.
